Hi, I'm Ruth! I am a Yankee, living in Central Maine most of my life. I have been raising Chihuahuas for over 30 years on a small scale. My theory is that Chihuahuas are like potato chips, you can't have just one. The more Chihuahuas I have around, the less I need TV. These happy little creatures are free entertainment as they bounce around playfully, or snuggle quietly in my lap. Raising quality puppies is only part of my life.
I have "retired" (from being a Pediatric Home Health Nurse), but I stay plenty busy. I raise chickens, I raise a garden, and I am available to help anyone at church that needs help. I work hard, and I play hard. In the summer I've got my boat on a lake whenever I can. I love fishing and my second hobby... shooting photos of eagles and osprey! Watching those majestic creatures swoop down on their prey and snatch it up in their talons and fly away... it's awesome.

So, what to expect from me? Well, you can expect that every dog here is my personal baby. You can expect that, (after the melodious greeting) when you come in and sit down that you will be joyfully greeted by most of my gals... they love company! You can expect me to ask questions about your readiness to own a Chihuahua. You can expect me to answer all your questions (even if I have to look it up - grin). And you can expect to come as a stranger and leave as a friend!
I welcome visitors (and their cameras), but ask that visits be by appointment only. I am also busy doing routine care for my dogs as well as my chickens and garden outside. I have a very busy life and I like it that way, (smile). I also ask that folks be on time for their appointments with me... I rearrange my schedule to be available for visitors at most any time, and it is very dis-heartning to sit here and wait for folks who don't show up and don't call to cancel or arrange a different time that works better for them. If you are 30 minutes to an hour late for your appointment with me, I might just be gone somewhere or busy outside. I don't think I ask much, just a little consideration. Especially in these days of cell phones, it's easy to call me and tell me that you are running late or need to re-schedule.
